5 Yummie East Village Restaurants

by | Jun 22, 2016

East Village is home to many eclectic restaurants ranging from fine dining to quick eats. No matter what mood you’re in, there’s always something to eat! Here are our top 5 restaurants in East Village.

Mighty Quinn’s BBQMightyEat your heart out at the original Mickey Quinn’s BBQ in East Village. Known for its smoked meats, Mickey Quinn’s BBQ is perfect if you’re looking for some down-home barbecue. The brisket is the most popular item on the menu, and we recommend pairing all that meaty deliciousness with the burnt-end baked beans and slaw.

Kyo YaYou’ll have to keep a sharp eye out if you want to eat at the best Japanese kaiseki experience in New York City. Kyo Ya may not be marked outside and may be located in the basement of its building, but the food is world class. Make sure you call 24-hours ahead so that you can experience the lauded multi-course tasting menu. If you arrive sans reservation, you’ll have to order a la carte.

Umami BurgerServing up the classic burgers and fries, Umami Burger is the perfect place for fantastic burgers and a great selection of fries and salads. Winning so many accolades for its blends of flavors and ingredients, we ensure you’ll love everything about this place. Our personal favorite is the classic Umami Burger with the Maple Bacon Fries.

SigiriThis Sri Lankan eatery is low-key. The narrow second-floor space is nothing to write home about, but the traditional cuisine is some of the best in Manhattan. We recommend the kottu roti, which is a stir-fry dish made of chopped up pancakes, eggs, and vegetables.

TuomeTuomeTuome serves up semi-American food with an Asian flare. Truth be told, we have trouble categorizing Tuome because so many of Thomas Chen’s (head chef) dishes are full of unusual twists and surprises. Hailed as one of NYC’s best new restaurants in 2014, Tuome is our recommendation if you’re looking for a flavorful adventure.AdwordsLeaderboard728x90
