This week, we sat down with Triplemint agent Andrew Feldman to discuss the evolution of his team, Ampersand Properties, and his dedication to meeting and exceeding his client’s needs.
Why did you become an agent?
I became an agent because I always excelled in sales and I’ve always loved real estate and architecture, so it was a natural synergy of combining the two things that I loved with the ability to help people invest their money wisely or find a beautiful place to call home.
What has been your best moment as a real estate agent?
To date, the best moment in my real estate career has been launching the Ampersand Properties Team. I’ve always envisioned being able to service all aspects of my clients’ real estate needs, and Ampersand does exactly that.
What does a typical day as an agent entail?
Lots of cardio! And a lot of juggling multiple deals and clients. It’s always a focus to service and treat everyone with professionalism and importance, so my day is filled with ensuring I do just that.
What’s the most difficult part of being an agent?
For me, the most difficult part of being an agent is forcing myself to disconnect for some ‘off time.’ I love what I do, so it’s not always easy to know when to put the phone down, turn off the computer, and stop working.
What tips would you give to aspiring agents who are just starting out?
The best tip I could give to a new agent is to remember that this is a ‘get rich slow’ business. It takes a long time to build a client base and gain a reputation that is respected. The longer you work hard and the more you strive to put your customers first and handle things correctly, the more your business will grow and the longer you’ll survive in this industry.
Do you have any tips for first-time home buyers looking to buy in the NY market?
Choosing the right agent is going to be a critical component of your success. Interview agents and choose someone you’re comfortable with. You need to be able to trust that they’ll handle your purchase with integrity and respect, and that you’ll enjoy speaking to and going through the process with them. You’ll be spending a lot of time with them!
What is your favorite NY neighborhood, and why?
I can’t say I have one favorite, I love my city and all of the neighborhoods that encompass it. But if I was forced to choose just one, I’d choose the West Village. For no particular reason except I’ve always felt like that area felt like home.
What does the future hold for you?
I’m terrible at predicting the future, but I can tell you I will be in this business for a very long time. I love this business and am proud of my team. Whatever the future holds for us all, I’m excited for it.
