Located between Old Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue, North to South and the East River and Court Street, East to West, Brooklyn Heights is still full of quiet streets and historic architecture unlike the modern hustle and bustle of nearby DUMBO. You will find lots of trees and family oriented spaces in this old school, tranquil yet affluent neighborhood.

Accessibility: Brooklyn Heights’ proximity to Manhattan makes it very easy to travel to and from. You have the ferry as well as the A, C, 2, 3, N, R, 4, and 5 trains. It is also a very quick cab to downtown Manhattan due to its location just south of the Brooklyn Bridge. Additionally the area is teaming with bus routes such as the B57, B45, and B103.

Lifestyle: With lots of public green space, the lifestyle in Brooklyn Heights is easy breezy. Many residents chose to walk around town rather than takes busses or subways when the weather is nice. You can expect to see your neighbors jogging by the river front or playing a game of soccer on the expansive outdoor fields on the weekends.

Restaurants and bars: You won’t find a sprawling nightlife here, as most of the food and bars are casual. You will however, find tons of sidewalk seating at restaurants on Hicks Street and comfort food all around. For authentic and delicious handmade pasta head to Noodle Pudding on Henry Street. The meatballs are to die for, but make sure to bring cash, as they don’t accept credit cards. You’ll find delicious cocktails at The Long Island Bar. It may look like an old diner on the inside but you won’t be disappointed with the drinks.

Cost of living: If you are looking for quiet, beautiful tree lines streets with easy access to Manhattan then Brooklyn Heights is your place. It will, however cost you a pretty penny to live here. Median sale price in the area is a whopping $1.6 million. You will typically find brownstones and row houses, most of which has been artfully restored. Don’t expect to find many high-rise, doorman buildings here. Median rental cost of a two bedroom in the area is $4,250 per month. Residents report that living in the area is worth every penny due to the lifestyle and amenities they have come to love.
