After more than a year on the market, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were finally able to sell their stylish loft in Nolita’s Brewster Carriage House. The final sales price for Legend’s and Teigen’s condo hasn’t hit public records yet, but it is expected to be quite high considering the luxuriousness of the unit.
Living Large As A Music Star
The listing started out at $4.495 million back in June of 2015, but the price dropped $500K in November 2015 hoping to attract interested buyers. The plan, obviously, worked. The monthly maintenance charges and taxes work out to just under $3,000 per month, which is fairly reasonable given the price point for this listing.
Currently, there aren’t any units listed for sale. However, when one does come on the market, buyers will be expected to shell out a pretty penny to purchase such a home. Based on previous records, a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom unit with 3,500 square feet went for $6.995 million while another apartment, a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, with nearly 2,200 square feet went for $3.9 million.
Brewster Carriage House (374 Broome Street)
The building itself is circa 1856 but has been tastefully redone into a boutique condominium. 374 Broome Street was originally home to Brewster and Co., which was at the time considered to be the most luxurious horse carriage maker of the time.
In 2010, developer Ross Morgan converted this six-story building into a condominium with nine residential spaces. In order to preserve the architectural history of the building, Morgan restored many of the cast iron Corinthian columns and was able to reuse some of the wood joists throughout the building.
