Lauren Bacall Sells Iconic UES Home

by | Jan 15, 2015

After her recent death, Hollywood icon Lauren Bacall’s apartment at the equally-as-iconic Dakota has hit the market for a hefty $26M.

The apartment was appraised just before her death at just $9M, but industry insiders have disputed that appraisal and the listing agent from Warburg Realty must have agreed.

The unit has 3 bedrooms, 3 and a half bathrooms, five fireplaces, Central Park views and 13-ft ceilings. The apartment also features a library, great room and formal dining room. The Dakota is one of the most exclusive buildings in New York City, long home to celebrities and financiers.

Bacall purchased the apartment in 1961 for only $48,000.
