Our Favorite Local Spots Around NYC

by | Oct 18, 2017

We asked our amazing Triplemint agents to share their favorite neighborhoods and local haunts around NYC, in honor of Agent Appreciation Week this week!

They’re hitting the pavement every day to help their clients find their perfect homes, and find the right neighborhood for them, so they know their stuff!

Here’s a few of our agents’ favorite hangouts…

Brad Lauren: “By far, my favorite neighborhood is Gramercy Park/Flatiron. It’s got the best architecture, vibe, and restaurants. I met my wife eating dinner at the bar of Gramercy Tavern and eventually asked her to marry me there! Sit in the tavern and order the burger which is off the menu.”

JJ Choi: “The East Village is a food haven filled with international delights from all over the world. For seasonal French-American fare, head over to Kingsley for a special meal. When the weather is nice, sit outdoors in a cozy tucked away area. Crafty cocktails will not disappoint and on weekends, the DIY Bloody Mary station can’t be missed!

Amy McDonald: “One of my favorite places is Mermaid Oyster Bar on MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village. It’s a cute little spot (of the Mermaid Inn family) that opens at 5PM and there’s always a line for happy hour. They have dollar oysters, shrimp and avocado sliders, and a great Bloody Mary! I bring clients, friends, and family here a lot.”

Maggie Fanney: “My favorite neighborhood is the Upper East Side. My favorite local spot is a bar that recently opened on Second Ave called Workshop. Since the Second Avenue subway opened, we’ve seen a ton of new bars and restaurants open nearby. This bar has quickly become a staple of the East 70s on Second Ave. They always have unique and local beers on tap that change every time you visit. Their Tuesday night trivia is always packed and a great time. Plus they host free taste testing events every once in awhile, like a beer and cheese night or a chocolate and spirits night!”
